Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.

The Toastmasters Program

The Toastmasters program is not a college, trade school or other formal course in public speaking. There are no instructors, professors nor classrooms. No one’s work is graded and no tests are administered. In Toastmasters members learn by studying the manuals, practicing and helping one another.

Club meetings are workshops where you study and practice communication and leadership skills with others who are there for the same reason. Everybody learns by doing and by watching fellow club members.

Competent Communication

The Competent Communication manual consists of 10 projects designed to develop speaking skills and improve your speech delivery. Each project requires you to prepare a 5-7 minute speech which is evaluated by the other members, giving you information on what was good and what you can still improve.

Project after project, you improve your ability to master your body language, your voice modulation, get rid of stress, use visual aids, and deliver speeches that are meaningful for the audience.

Competent Leadership

The Competent Leadership manual features 10 projects that you complete while serving in various club meeting roles. An evaluator will give you feedback on each project, helping you to improve. When you complete the manual, you are eligible for the Competent Leader award.

When you become a Toastmasters member, a sea possibilities open up to you. It’s up to you to choose your path. But you need to take the first step. Come to our meeting and see it for yourself!
